Shauntelle Dukes Modeste has always had a heart for children and their lifelong success since her teaching career began in 2000 when she earned her Bachelor's of Science in Elementary Education and a few years later a Masters' in Reading Education from the University of Central Arkansas while teaching third grade at a local public school and currently pursuing dissertation work at UNT in the area of the role of  parental involvement  in children's literacy success.

    At a very early age she realized that she wanted to make an impact in the world through teaching and improving the lives of others through education. Modeste eventually moved to Texas and continued her classroom teaching in Grand Prairie, Tx and Lewisville, Tx. 

      Her principal at the time promoted her to a leadership role as the school's Literacy Coach/Reading Specialist. In this role she had the wonderful opportunity to work alongside and train other great teachers in the area of reading and literacy as well as work with small group struggling readers daily. 

     After her daughter Madelyn Grace started formal school she realized she wanted to help bright children like her receive a more  personalized, and rigorous education and began a tutoring business and later a homeschool for her daughter and other children like Madelyn Grace who are intellectually curious, intelligent, and Christian children locally. She began to homeschool out of her home, and at the height of the pandemic heard a calling from God to expand her reach to like-minded students through an online program. As a result, Ahead Of The Curve Homeschool Academy opened its online doors in the fall of 2021. 

     Ahead Of The Curve Homeschool Academy welcomes all students virtually from around the globe who desires a loving, relevant, personalized, and rigorous education. Children deserve an excellent education!
